One of the side effects of the teeth whitening process is an increase in teeth sensitivity, whether treatment is done in the dental office or at-home. There have been many attempts to reduce or eliminate sensitivity related to teeth whitening and KöR Whitening has traditionally been at the forefront of that research.

It is important to understand the causes of teeth whitening sensitivity and the two distinct types of sensitivity KöR Whitening has identified:

Dentinal Hypersensitivity (DH)
This is a general discomfort of the teeth, usually in reaction to stimuli including hot/cold temperatures and teeth brushing.

Zingers
These are the quick, and often quite painful, “shocks” that will shoot down the teeth.
Obviously, many people just have naturally sensitive teeth before any treatment is applied, but our focus here is to talk about DH and zingers that are accentuated as a result of teeth whitening.
